Speaking of “shuffle”…. Best compliment I can remember about my music – I threw a party for about fifty folks after New Years’ a while back, and a (very eclectic, artsy, fun) friend came up to me during cleanup and said “really love the music…..but I don’t recognize any of it!”.
As a father of five, I can safely say that I have been there and done that many times. I hope that it is over soon, regardless of how soon I should like to see the next instalment of the comic.
I check every week or so, hoping to see an update. Yes, I like the expansion element (though it seems there will be no more of that) but I do not like an unfinished story. I hope to see the rest, and in spite of what your detractors might say, I would encourage you to do what you love.
Do what you must. Darkness can happen, you just can’t let it envelop you and your stories. Don’t forget its called “Bridgette’s Belly” not “Bridgette’s Darkness”
I fell in love with Bridgette’s Belly when I saw that the main character was overweight. Me, being overweight, I feel self-concious about myself when amazing stories have these “beautiful” and “slender” characters. It made me think “So it’s all about how you look that makes a story?”
Seeing Bridgette’s character evolve over the course of the story was awesome. She was caring, mischievous, nice, resentful, and even downright in the dumps. The story wasn’t just about her belly, but herself as a person. A highschool student becoming a mother and trying to make a forbidden relationship work.
As my comments on how the chapter/story becoming dark, it’s a good headsup. I always saw the silver lining of each chapter and it happened. However, this is your story and your decision. If you feel this is how it should happen, then go ahead!
By the way, real life and yourself is more important than a story that you give to us for free and make it an option to help you. That says a lot about an author and artist.
So take it easy and take your time. Work on your other projects and stuff but don’t lose yourself! Just remember, “Do what you can.”
Good luck, Andrew. I’ll keep checking on the comic and your status on the site:)
